After a few months, the Pansonic (lightweight and plastic, rechargeable battery) was nearing the end of it's duty cycle. In fairness, it was doing way more shaving than Pansonic intended. I still needed a replacement.
The Wahl Balder cuts almost as close as a razor without the guard. It is exactly what I wanted. It is heavy, seems like it is built pretty tough and durable, and no nicks or cuts. Just use reasonable pressure and the right angle. Highly recommended.
Tip: If you are using an electric razor to shave your head for the first time, don't adjust the blades to go very close at first. After a few weeks, adjust them downward after your skin has had time to toughen up a bit.
